Mit unserem neuen Buch <em>Common Diversities 2<\/em> <em>Filipino Europeans Remaking the Past, Shaping the Future<\/em> dabei zu sein war unser gro\u00dfes Ziel und wir haben es rechtzeitig geschafft! Vielen Dank an alle Beteiligten f\u00fcr den Beitrag. Wir m\u00f6chten ein paar Eindr\u00fccke teilen. Vorab: Diese Messe war beeindruckend &#8211; wir waren erschlagen von der Vielfalt des Angebots und von der Anzahl der Besucher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es ist ein unvergesslicher Anblick, unsere beiden(!) B\u00fccher in den Regalen des philippinischen Salons ausgelegt zu finden. Voller Stolz, ein Teil dieser gro\u00dfen Auswahl zu sein, haben wir es genossen, so viele B\u00fccher von den Philippinen zu sehen und mit einigen Autor:innen sprechen zu k\u00f6nnen. Nat\u00fcrlich war es eine gro\u00dfe Freude pers\u00f6nlich I.E. Frau Botschafterin Irene Susan Natividad ein Exemplar unseres <em>Common Diversities 2<\/em> zu \u00fcberreichen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Doch wir waren nicht nur G\u00e4ste, sondern haben auch die Gelegenheit genutzt, unser Buch au\u00dferhalb der Messe zu pr\u00e4sentieren und gemeinsam mit den Freunden unseren Meilenstein zu feiern:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Am Freitag, dem 17.10.2025, hielten wir unter dem Titel &#8222;Philippines \u2013 Migration, Diaspora, Exile Suche nach Identit\u00e4t \u2013 Search for Identity&#8220; am Uni Campus Bockenheim eine besondere Buchlesung. Im Vordergrund standen drei aktuelle Publikationen, die auf ganz unterschiedliche Weise philippinische Realit\u00e4ten sichtbar machen: Unser <em>Common Diversities 2<\/em> (regiospectra Verlag), <em>Von Marcos zu Marcos<\/em> (Promedia Verlag) von J\u00f6rg Schwieger und Rainer Werning, sowie <em>Der singende Gefangene und die Bibliothekarin mit nur einem Buch<\/em> (regiospectra Verlag) von Michael Beltran. Herzlichen Dank an J\u00f6rg f\u00fcr die Organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Am Samstag wiederum haben wir einfach nur gefeiert. Im Amt f\u00fcr multikulturelle Angelegenheiten, dessen R\u00e4umlichkeiten wir nutzen durften, haben wir mit den Autor:innen, Halo-Halo Netzwerk und G\u00e4sten die Entstehung des Buches Revue passieren lassen. Ein Abend voller Freude und Emotionen. Vielen Dank an Jenny Reith und ihr Team f\u00fcr die gro\u00dfartige Unterst\u00fctzung!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The Philippines was the guest of honor at the 2025 Frankfurt Book Fair. Our main goal was to be there with our new book, <em>Common Diversities 2 Filipino Europeans Remaking the Past, Shaping the Future<\/em>, and we made it in time! Many thanks to everyone involved for their contribution. We would like to share a few impressions. First of all: this fair was impressive\u2014we were overwhelmed by the diversity of the offerings and the number of visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is an unforgettable sight to find our two (!) books displayed on the shelves of the Philippine Salon. Proud to be part of this large selection, we enjoyed seeing so many books from the Philippines and talking to some of the authors. Of course, it was a great pleasure to personally present H.E. Ambassador Irene Susan Natividad with a copy of our <em>Common Diversities 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But we weren&#8217;t just guests; we also took the opportunity to present our book outside the fair and celebrate our milestone together with friends:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, October 17, 2025, we held a special book reading at the Bockenheim University Campus entitled \u201cPhilippines \u2013 Migration, Diaspora, Exile Search for Identity.\u201d The focus was on three current publications that highlight Philippine realities in very different ways: Our <em>Common Diversities 2<\/em> (regiospectra Verlag), <em>Von Marcos zu Marcos<\/em> (Promedia Verlag) by J\u00f6rg Schwieger and Rainer Werning, as well as <em>Der singende Gefangene und die Bibliothekarin mit nur einem Buch<\/em> (regiospectra Verlag) by Michael Beltran. Many thanks to J\u00f6rg for organizing the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Saturday, we simply celebrated. At the Office for Multicultural Affairs, whose premises we were allowed to use, we reviewed the creation of <em>Common Diversities 2<\/em> <em>Filipino Europeans Remaking the Past, Shaping the Future<\/em> with the authors and Halo-Halo network and guests. It was an evening full of joy and emotion.
