{"id":2356,"date":"2024-04-18T20:48:59","date_gmt":"2024-04-18T20:48:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/?p=2356"},"modified":"2024-04-25T13:56:44","modified_gmt":"2024-04-25T13:56:44","slug":"kubo23-festival-bericht-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/?p=2356","title":{"rendered":"KUB\u014c23 Festival \u2013 Bericht"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Im September 2023 fand vom 01.09. bis zum 03.09.2023 wieder das Kunst- und Kulturfestival \u201e<strong>KUB\u014c23<\/strong>\u201c statt \u2013 diesmal an einem neuen Veranstaltungsort, und zwar in der VHS \u201eKulturgarage\u201c in der Seestadt. Es wurde wieder vom <strong>Zentrum f\u00fcr \u00f6sterreichische und philippinische Kultur und Sprache (Sentro) <\/strong>mit freundlicher Unterst\u00fctzung der <strong>Wien 3420 aspern Development AG<\/strong> und der <strong>Kulturabteilung der Stadt Wien MA7 <\/strong>veranstaltet. Bei dieser Gelegenheit bedanken wir uns recht herzlich f\u00fcr die tatkr\u00e4ftige Unterst\u00fctzung durch die Mitarbeiter*innen der <strong>VHS Donaustadt<\/strong> <strong>Kulturgarage<\/strong>, die einen sehr gro\u00dfen Anteil an dem Erfolg des Festivals beigetragen haben, und insbesondere bei Herrn <strong>Karl Dworschak<\/strong>, der von dem Konzept des Festivals \u00fcberzeugt war und viele T\u00fcren f\u00fcr uns ge\u00f6ffnet hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"KUBO 2023 - impressions about THE Filipino event of the year in Austria!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fpOgtoRpuTw?start=2&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auch dieses Jahr wurden R\u00e4ume geschaffen, um als Community von Freunden, Suchenden und neugierigen Zuschauern zusammenzukommen, um die philippinische Kultur durch Dialog, kreative Zusammenarbeit, k\u00fcnstlerischen Ausdruck und bedeutungsvolle Entdeckungen als globale Pinoy-Familie zu feiern. <strong>KUB\u014c<\/strong>, benannt nach der traditionellen philippinischen H\u00fctte, ist eine Plattform und bietet einen Raum f\u00fcr Zusammenarbeit, Partnerschaft und ein Salo-Salo zwischen Organisationen, Gemeinschaften, Freunden, Suchenden und neugierigen Zuschauern der philippinischen Kultur in \u00d6sterreich und dar\u00fcber hinaus. <strong>KUB\u014c<\/strong> ist eine Gemeinschaft, die in Wien, \u00d6sterreich, von Sentro und jungen philippinischen \u00d6sterreichern gegr\u00fcndet wurde, die durch die Kraft von Kunst und Kultur eine Br\u00fccke zwischen ihren Wurzeln und ihrem Heimatland bauen wollen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Das Thema des Festivals war daher auch in diesem Jahr die \u201eIdentit\u00e4t\u201c der zweiten und dritten Generation der in Europa geborenen Nachkommen philippinischer Einwander*innen. <strong>KUB\u014c<\/strong> hat sie in das Rampenlicht geholt, deren Kunst, Talente, ihr t\u00e4gliches Leben und alles das, was sie zu dem macht, was sie heute sind und wo sie stehen. Unterst\u00fctzend in ihrem Selbstverst\u00e4ndnis oder bei ihrer Suche pr\u00e4sentierte <strong>KUB\u014c<\/strong> ein reichhaltiges Angebot aus Kunst, Kultur und Kulinarik, sowie Diskussionen und Workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beleuchtet wurden die jungen Menschen und deren Einfl\u00fcsse, die aus unterschiedlichen Richtungen und Gegenden stammen, insbesondere von den Philippinen und aus \u00d6sterreich. Der Fokus des Angebots lag in diesem Jahr neben traditionellen T\u00e4nzen, Gew\u00e4ndern, dem einzigartigen Essen, \u00fcber Malerei und Zeichnungen der \u00e4lteren und j\u00fcngeren Generation bis hin zu Performance Dance, Filmvorf\u00fchrungen, auf Musikdarbietungen junger Talente und Bands. Insbesondere die Neuinterpretationen von philippinischen Pop-Klassikern durch junge Musiker waren die emotionalen H\u00f6hepunkte des jeweiligen Abendprogramms, pr\u00e4sentiert von unseren beiden fantastischen Hosts <strong>Cindy Kurleto<\/strong> und <strong>G\u00e9rard Karlo Rabara<\/strong>. Abgerundet wurden diese Darbietungen von Workshops und Diskussionen zu aktuellen Themen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mit knapp 600 G\u00e4ste und 200 Mitwirkenden fand das Festival eine rege Teilnahme. Im Gegensatz dazu zeigte <strong>Purple Jam<\/strong>, eine Tanzgruppe bestehend aus drei jungen T\u00e4nzerinnen, ein interpretative Tanzperformance \u00fcber ihre Geschichte des Stra\u00dfentanzes. Eine sehr pers\u00f6nliche Note zeigte auch <strong>Erin Silangil<\/strong>, die neben klassischen Opernarien auch Kompositionen ihrer Mutter pr\u00e4sentierte. Weitere klassische St\u00fccke wurden von dem Chor <strong>Koro Santa Cecilia<\/strong> vorgetragen. Gef\u00fchlvolle Musik wurde pr\u00e4sentiert von <strong>Pete&amp;Dawn<\/strong>, <strong>Christine-Joahn Meier<\/strong> und <strong>Common Ground<\/strong> \u2013 junge K\u00fcnstler*innen der zweiten Generation. Die Band <strong>Dflat<\/strong> zeigte, dass sie mit ihrem K\u00f6nnen eine gro\u00dfe, treue Fangemeinde in Wien erreicht. Der H\u00f6hepunkt des Samstags war das Konzert von <strong>Mark Agpas<\/strong> und der Band <strong>Rakistang Pinoy<\/strong>, bei dem die neu interpretierten und rockig vorgetragenen OPM-Klassiker niemand ruhig sitzen bleiben lie\u00df.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230902-212210_IMG_9426.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230902-212210_IMG_9426-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2358\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230902-212210_IMG_9426-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230902-212210_IMG_9426-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230902-212210_IMG_9426-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230902-212210_IMG_9426-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230902-212210_IMG_9426.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eine ebenso gro\u00dfe Spannweite an Generationen boten die Ausstellungen im Atrium von jungen K\u00fcnstlern wie <strong>Harold Khan, Sheree Domingo<\/strong> und <strong>Apollo Rey Ikan<\/strong> zwischen Zeichnungen und Malereien. Zus\u00e4tzlich wurden traditionelle Kleidungsst\u00fccke sowohl aus dem muslimischen S\u00fcden der Philippinen als auch aus dem Norden von <strong>Ana Maria Cruz-Langer<\/strong> vorgestellt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auf gro\u00dfes Interesse stie\u00df die dargebotene TV-Episode \u201e<strong>Bangketa<\/strong>\u201c von dem renommierten und ausgezeichneten Regisseur <strong>Raz del la Torre<\/strong>, der nach der Auff\u00fchrung auch per Live-Schaltung von den Philippen Fragen des Publikums beantwortete sowie den Hintergrund dieser Folge und seiner Arbeit n\u00e4her beleuchtete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Viele der Paneldiskussionen drehten sich ebenfalls um das Thema Identit\u00e4t und dem Zurechtfinden zwischen den Kulturen. So wurde zum Beispiel beim Panel \u201e<strong>Appreciating Filipino music &#8211; A sound trip through OPM from Manila Sound to PPOP<\/strong>\u201c dar\u00fcber gesprochen, welchen Einfluss die Musik der Elterngeneration heute noch auf die Jugendlichen haben. In der Paneldiskussion \u201e<strong>Disinformation in journalism and social media &#8211; impacts to Filipino youth in the diaspora<\/strong>\u201c wurde unter Beteiligung der in UK lebenden und international ausgezeichneten Kinderbuchautorin und Journalistin <strong>Candy Gourlay<\/strong> und des bekannten philippinischen Journalisten <strong>Christian Esguerra<\/strong> herausgearbeitet, wie sich teilweise Desinformation bei den Nachkommen philippinischer Migranten auswirkt. Bei \u201e<strong>Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy: Navigating Pinoy Queerness<\/strong>\u201c wurde gezeigt, dass der Begriff LGBTQ nur eine Bezeichnung daf\u00fcr ist, was in der philippinischen Kultur schon seit langem akzeptiert ist-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abgerundet wurde das Programm einerseits \u00fcber die verschiedenen kulinarischen K\u00f6stlichkeiten der (austro-) philippinischen K\u00fcche und andererseits \u00fcber verschiedene Vorf\u00fchrungen junger oder etablierter T\u00e4nzer:innen sowie Konzerten junger Talente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230903-131450__MG_9546.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230903-131450__MG_9546-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230903-131450__MG_9546-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230903-131450__MG_9546-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230903-131450__MG_9546-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230903-131450__MG_9546-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.zentrum-oep.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/KUBO23-20230903-131450__MG_9546.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mit diesem KUB\u014c23-Festival ist es dem Organisationsteam um <strong>Arlene Casta\u00f1eda<\/strong>, <strong>Harold Khan, Christian Namiss,<\/strong> <strong>G\u00e9rard Karlo Rabara<\/strong> und <strong>Charmaine Taus<\/strong> sowie <strong>Christel Ga\u00f1o<\/strong>, <strong>Marilyn Velasco Magoo, Katja Sabando,<\/strong> <strong>Esther Tidoso<\/strong> und <strong>Gialyn Yebron-Capate<\/strong> gelungen, diesem Teil der europ\u00e4isch-philippinischen Kultur eine Plattform zu geben und f\u00fcr alle Anwesenden einen emotionalen und dennoch friedvollen Rahmen f\u00fcr gemeinsames Feiern, dem gegenseitigen Kennenlernen und Weiterentwickeln zu geben. Wir danken recht herzlich allen flei\u00dfigen Engeln, die \u201eunser\u201c Festival zu dem Erfolg gebracht haben, den wir uns gew\u00fcnscht haben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image
